Fellowship: Making Friends
St. Barnabas family is an active community of friends; old friends, new friends and future friends. We create many opportunities to serve, learn, and worship together, but many times we gather for pure fun and fellowship.
Bridge Afternoon
Join this informal group of bridge players on the second Monday each month at 12:30 p.m. in the church lounge.
Ladies’ Luncheon
The Ladies Luncheon group meets at 12:30pm on the first Monday of each month. The group meets at the Deerfield Country Club in January, and alternates monthly between there and the Back Burner. It is an opportunity to meet, eat and socialize.
Meet & Greet (Sunday Coffee Hour and Monthly Breakfast)
Each Sunday after the 10:00 a.m. service, there is an opportunity for fellowship in the Great Hall. On the first Sunday of each month, there is a parish breakfast. All other Sundays, there is a Coffee Hour. These events allow you to meet new people and stay in touch with those you know. Volunteer hosts are responsible for setting up and cleaning up, one Sunday a quarter. St. Barnabas supplies the food. If you have questions or would like to participate in this valuable ministry, please contact the church office.
Men’s Luncheon
The Men’s Luncheon group consists mostly of retired men, who meet on the second Wednesday of every month. They currently meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Deerfield Country Club. The group has always included current clergy and is usually attended by 12 to 15 men. This luncheon started about fifteen years ago with just a few men as a social group and has no meeting agenda.
Parish Bowlers
Each third Saturday of the month, our non-expert bowlers meet at Price Lanes for bowling and refreshments. They always welcome new challegers.
