Bishop's Vicar: The Rev. Peter Huiner
Peter serves St. Barnabas in an interim capacity. Before coming here, he was an Associate Priest at the Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew in downtown Wilmington. He served as Interim Rector there in 2007 and 2008. Prior positions in this diocese were Rector of Grace Church, Brandywine Hundred and Canon Theologian at the Cathedral Church of Saint John. A native of Chicago, Peter's varied career has included parish ministry as well as school, seminary, and diocesan administrative posts in Illinois, Michigan, and New York.
Pastoral Assistant - Sister Cassandra Norsworthy
Sr. Cassandra has been a member of the Anamchara Fellowship since 2004. At St. Barnabas' she has a particular ministry to the sick and homebound. She is also a Stephen Minister. Cassandra, a native of Virginia, has served in several leadership posts both in the Diocese of Southern Virginia and in the Diocese of New Jersey. She is retired from a varied secular career, including work as a paralegal in real estate title and escrow.
Director of Music Ministry: Michael Larkin
Dr. Larkin directs the Chancel Choir and Renaissance Quire and serves as a coach and consultant to the directors of the Rock of Ages and the Cherub and Seraphim Choirs. During his tenure at St. Barnabas’ Dr. Larkin has expanded the repertoire of the choirs, greatly enhancing the worship experience. He has arranged and composed music especially for the St. Barnabas’ choirs to perform.
Dr. Larkin is the chairperson of the Vocal/Choral Department, and the artist faculty voice teacher with distinction at the Wilmington Music School. Dr. Larkin conducts the Select Choral Ensemble and Delaware Youth Symphony and is the founder of the New Ark Chorale.
Youth Ministry Leaders: Sarah and John Mester
Sarah, a member of St. Barnabas for twenty years, once served as an acolyte and was confirmed at St. Barnabas. Sarah and John met at the University of Delaware. They married at St. Barnabas on July 21, 2006. John is a middle school science teacher and works at a local bike shop part time. Sarah is an elementary special education teacher. John and Sarah enjoy living an active lifestyle. They mountain bike regularly and enjoy rock climbing, hiking, and sailing. This past November they welcomed a son, Andrew, to their family.
